About our new blog and and the birth of the band

Hi and welcome to our new blog. Here we will be posting in-depth articles about past events we have done as well as tips and ideas to inspire our readers on their event planning journeys.

..And what better place to start than the very beginning..

To kick off we have decided to give a bit more insight into how XS SHOWBAND has come about and has become the business it is today.

XS SHOWBAND was founded by Francesca Berlin (now Gelkoff) in 2016 . Francesca trained at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts in Musical Theatre before going onto performing in stage shows across the globe. She was perfectly placed to build an elite showband, having the ability to recognise exceptional artists and performers. Francesca’s eye for detail and level of musicianship meant that in a short period of time XS SHOWBAND was making waves in this very competitive industry.

Francesca was always passionate about musical theatre and was excited to bring the same energy, professionalism and creativity to the events scene. Her mission was to create a band that would set new industry standards and the last 8 years have proved that she has absolutely nailed this mission.

The band perform a huge combination of music, inspired by a huge range of artists and styles from Big Band Swing to Soul and Motown to RnB,. Dependent on the client requests, they can be found performing covers from the likes of Jools Holland to Aretha Franklin, Sam Cooke, all the way to artists like Lauren Hill. The mission was to bring ALL styles and cultures into a modern format, suitable for todays wedding and events scene. The aim was always to keep the energy high throughout the events with packed dancefloors, and most importantly, giving clients an exceptional experience throughout their entire booking process.
